Unsung Screamers Podcast

Having spent most their lives pursuing the 'musical dream', Dan and Tara Fritz explore the stories of others who have done the same. Currently based in Springfield, MO, this married couple dives into the lives and stories of their local music scene in hopes to gain knowledge, inspiration and connection to their fans, by giving them the platform that they deserve. Having fame and fortune is not the only reason we dream. It's not the destination of everyone's purpose. However... the struggles, the triumphs, the pain, the joy, the satisfaction, the being broke down on the side of the road with only a dollar in your pocket... are all shared experiences. Get to know your not-so-famous local artists, writers, singers, players and even those behind the scenes whose stories will inspire you as much as any others.

In this episode, we hang and talk and laugh hard with Eddie Hines. Eddie currently plays bass with the bands Fun House and Rags To Riches. He brought is lovely wife, Amy, along for this ride we call The Unsung Dreamers! The two of them have been together for 33 years, which is pretty amazing considering that they've been involved in music that entire time. Their son, Alex plays bass in the band, Mood Ring Circus, so the musical cycle is just beginning all over again for them.

He tells us all about getting into music because of his older brother making him learn to play bass, just so that he'd have a bandmate. And not too long after that, he got a lucky break to tour Europe on more than one occasion. If you've lived around Springfield for awhile now, then you'll enjoy some of the stories about the music scene from years ago. The venues, the players and tons of familiar names who used to make it happen around here, back in the day.

Enjoy this interview with Eddie Hines. You'll do yourself a huge favor to go see Fun House when you get the chance. They were our wedding band, and they were fantastic! Also check out Rags To Riches too! Let Eddie know that you heard of him right here on The Unsung Dreamers! Who knows... he might just buy you a shot!
